Attendance
At Manor Intermediate School, we encourage regular attendance.
Students are expected to be at school by 8:40 a.m., and finish at 3:00 pm. Please refer to the ABCDE 2024-2025 calendar for the annual daily schedule.
Please send all email communication regarding attendance, pick up, or bus changes to the following email address: ManorSchoolAttendance@hflcsd.org.
Absences
In the event of an absence, we request that a parent:
Call the attendance office before 9:30 a.m. at 624-7172 or send an email to ManorSchoolAttendance@hflcsd.org. This allows us to account for all students registered at Manor Intermediate School.
Excused absences include:
Illness
Illness or death in family
Impassable roads or weather
Quarantine
Required to be in court
Music lessons
Remedial health treatment
Any absence due to reasons other than the above is unexcused, including early dismissals for personal reasons.
Long absences from school for vacations or other trips should be acknowledged by the building principal. Please send an email to the building principal and your classroom teacher prior to these extended absences. Please note that they are considered "unexcused" absences by NYS.
Early Dismissal
If a parent needs their child to be excused during the day, the parent must call the attendance office at 624-7172 or send an email to ManorSchoolAttendance@hflcsd.org. Please note that messages received after 2:30 may not be honored as end of day dismissal information would have already been shared with classrooms. The app PikMyKid is used for afterschool dismissal. Please download this app at PikMyKid Parent Portal
Emergency School Closings
If school opening is delayed or canceled, the district will make an automated call to the primary contact phone number for each student and staff member. The delay or closing will also be posted on the district web site, www.hflcsd.org, updated in ParentSquare and local radio and television stations will be notified. (Please Note: These stations will be notified as soon as the decision is made. However, the on-air announcement will be made according to the radio or television station’s schedule. Please do not call the school.)
If school is to be closed early due to bad weather or other emergency, the district will make an automated call to all contact numbers for each student. Families should have a procedure to follow in the event of an early closing. Please be sure to make prior arrangements for the care of younger children if no adult will be at home during the day.
On days when school is closed due to bad weather or another emergency, all extracurricular and evening activities are also canceled.
